WordCamp Europe 2020 Goes Online This Summer
With the COVID-19 pandemic currently sweeping the globe and due to the ongoing and increasing uncertainty of the impact, it was recently decided to postpone the 2020 edition of WordCamp Europe, which was supposed to be hosted in Porto.
WordCamp Europe is one of the largest WordCamps in the world’s that gets been hosted annually in different glorious venues and inspiring cities for many years. WordCamp Europe 2020 is organized and managed by the WordPress community enthusiasts, slash organizers, who always make it an agenda that the WordPress community has a big gathering event every year. All the WordPress lovers find this a unique opportunity and gather from across the world where the event usually sells out of tickets and sponsor packages.
The WordCamp Europe team announced with heavy hearts that the annual WordCamp Europe event will be postponed until 2021. The WordCamp Europe will now take place in rescheduled dates of 3, 4 and 5 June 2021, at the same venue in Porto and still at the Super Bock Arena (Pavilhão Rosa Mota).
Postponing the WCEU 2020, was a tough decision taken firmly collectively by each member of the organizing team, who had deeply invested in the event. However, despite the event being postponed, like many other events, the organizing team was in the process of exploring the option of providing an online event.
Meanwhile, all the paid WCEU 2020 tickets were also decided to be refunded automatically through the same payment method that was used to purchase the ticket. The process was made easier as there wasn’t any need to manually request the refund. All paid tickets were announced to be will be refunded by 10 April.
Finally, it was decided that the WordCamp Europe 2020 is going to be held online and the reopening of the event to a virtual audience was met with enthusiasm when the team gave out the Twitter announcement.
WordCamp Europe 2020 has arranged a virtual platform for the European WordPress Community to gather for 3 days to learn, share and have fun.The event will take place online from 4-6 June, with a virtual Contributor Day on 4 June. The last two days of the event will consist of live-streamed sessions and workshops for half days. The team is still working out the details and will keep everyone updated when possible. The best part is that this online event is free for all!
Registration started
The first Word Camp Europe Online is just a few weeks and the excitement is peeking up! The registration for WordCamp Europe 2020 online has already started on Monday, 27 April.
Meanwhile, the organizing team has been busy shifting WCEU from an in-person conference to an online event. They are leaving no stone unturned deliver the type of WCEU experience the WordPress community has come to love and look forward to.
Ticket holders would be provided full access to the conference (4-6 June), and the opportunity to sign up for the online Contributor Day, taking place on 4th June.

In order to get the full WCEU experience, it is strongly recommended that you register for a ticket. This will provide you access to Q&A sessions, networking opportunities with speakers, sponsors and other attendees, and the opportunity to join the online Contributor Day on 4 June.
However, if rather you do not register, you will still be able to watch the talks. However, you won’t be able to take part in networking, Q&A sessions or Contributor Day.
